COVID-19 came with a fury and has resulted in many symptoms not previously once connected to the virus. Hair loss just so happens to be one of them. From actors, like Alyssa Milano, to social media stars, more people have revealed this lesser-known effect of COVID-19.

While the CDC has not included it in their list of prolonged side effects of the virus, doctors are now studying the connection.

Is Hair Loss an Actual Side Effect?

The short answer is kind of.

While there is no hard evidence, doctors have seen at least a 25 percent increase in people coming forward with this issue.

Doctors believe that the physical and emotional stress that accompanies COVID-19 can lead to hair loss through a condition called telogen effluvium.

The condition is only known to occur for a few months and is believed to be reversible.

If you find yourself experiencing this, here are a few tips that might help.

·      Focus on using products that can create a great environment for regrowth. Products that provide continuous nourishment and feed your hair essential vitamins are a good start.

·      Start tossing products that contain cheap silicones or salts. These will prevent the hair from growing back, and that is not what you want.

·      Book an appointment so that we can help you navigate what is best for your hair and how to keep it healthy and strong during this time.

We're here for you and ready to help. We're saving a seat for you.
