Where is TikTok's Place in Hair?

Let's just set the record straight once and for all. Tiktok is on top right now. The social media platform has taken what we loved about Instagram and raised the bar big time – you know, if you like short bursts of entertainment.

Not to mention it is good for so many things like:

-Mindlessly scrolling for hours even though you know you have work in the morning

-Watching another cursing grandma video and wondering if your grandma could be your ticket to fame

-Finding another tutorial of the popular vegan bacon hack that you most certainly will never use

-Keeping you up-to-date on the latest dance moves (and songs)

The list of its usefulness could go on and on. But what is TikTok NOT good for?

Doling out sound hair advice.

Just Say No

In a world where everybody is an influencer (and we do mean everybody), the lines can get blurred on which techniques, treatments, and facts we believe about quality hair care.

From popular trends like "perfume hair dye" to "fire haircuts," far too many people are damaging their hair at the risk of MORE views. And we don't have to tell you that hair damage is a hard one to come back from.

So, should you try the latest hair trend you see on TikTok? The short answer is no. Instead, ask your professional hair guru for any tips or advice and always get professional treatments to ensure the health and, dare we say, lifespan of your hair.

What if the influencer is licensed and certified in hair care?

Still, please consult with your stylist because they will know your specific needs and how to handle your individual hair. (Not all hair is the same)

Tiktok is great for many things, just not for hair. But that’s what we’re here for.
