Trending Styles: The 90s Blow-Out
The bold glamorous styles from the 90s are making a comeback, from clothing to accessories – and hair is no exception! We LOVE the signature 90s voluminous blow-out. The best part? This look is pretty easy to DIY.
One thing to note is that in humid parts of the country, like here in Athens, you may want to consider some great heat protectant products before you go crazy with your blow dryer.
We are big fans of Color Wow’s Speed Dry Blow Dry Spray, as it speeds up the blow dry process (which let’s face it can be daunting when time is an issue) and also provides heat protection through hydrating and strengthening proteins.
The main thing to always note when styling your hair – is to take care of it. Okay – so, we’re hopping off our soap box and back to the style at hand.
How to Achieve a 90s Blow Out
What you’re going to need to get started? A Hair Dryer, Hair Spray, Round Brush, and Some Patience
You’ll want to start with somewhat damp hair – be sure to comb out any tangles with a wide-tooth brush. Apply some heat protectant and rough dry your hair until it’s about 70% dry.
Part your hair into one-inch sections and begin to roll each section with your round brush. Begin drying each section, waiting for it to cool before unrolling. You want to focus on creating body and layers, so use a medium-heat setting – that will ensure that your hair won’t fall flat when you finish. Finish off the blow-out with some hair spray, and voila!
Feeling Adventurous? Add Some Curtain Bangs
Another signature look from the 90s is curtain bangs! While we love DIYs, we don’t recommend picking up the scissors for this one (let’s be honest, we’ve all had or seen a DIY bangs-fail during quarantine).
If you are in the Athens area and want to feel a bit pampered, go ahead and book an appointment with one of our talented stylists today to get the 90s glam look of your dreams.
